Alysha Painter
Chair
Alysha is a science communicator with a passion for visitor experiences, community engagement, and education outside the classroom. After completing a MAppSci in Science Communication in 2020, she has worked in science centres and zoos to inspire the next generation to never stop learning and to feel empowered to make a difference.
Julie Roulston
Secretary
Julie is a senior communications and content contractor, whose first experience in the world of interpretation was as Commununity Outreach lead in Auckland Council’s groundbreaking Te Kete Rukuruku Māori naming programme. Julie has worked in Māori specialist teams since 2020, is fluent in French and spend the first decades of her career in fashion and media.


Lynda Burns
Lynda has had a life time career in interpretation in parks, heritage sites and museums. As founding chair person of INNZ she is committed to mentoring and training the next generation of interpreters within Aotearoa. Currently she manages an interpretation training and project consultancy – Onsite Interpretation based in Tai Tokerau.
Sandra Groves
Sandra has been a member of INNZ since 2015 and been the social media champion for INNZ since 2023. She has worked 20 plus years for the Department of Conservation working in interesting projects involving interpretation. In 2018 she founded First Chapter and is a content writer specialising in nature, tourism, and heritage.


Nick Yeats
Nick is an experience developer with a background in museums and science communication. He has worked in museums around Aotearoa over the last 10 years and has a passion for sharing stories of heritage and nature. He is currently a Senior Interpretive Planner at Tāmaki Paenga Hira Auckland War Memorial Museum.
Charlotte Taylor
Charlotte is passionate about museums and immersive visitor experiences. Through public programmes and exhibitions, she helps visitors uncover new layers of meaning and connection as they explore Cornwall Park in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.


Murphy Peoples
Murphy has worked for over 20 years in museums and science centres in Australia, which all stemmed from her passion for science communication. Working in public programmes, learning, outreach, and finally in exhibitions, all her roles have had an element of audience-centric communication and interpretation. For the last 10 years she has worked as an exhibition experience developer/interpretive planner, the last five of these being at Te Papa Tongarewa.
Hannah Crichton
Hannah’s professional background includes storytelling, content development, research, and curation. She completed a MA in Museum and Artefact Studies at Durham University. Hannah has worked in disciplines ranging from science and technology to art, culture, and history, contributing to the British and Aotearoa New Zealand GLAM sectors.


Jessica Gommers
Jess has worked with teams within the GLAM sector, throughout Australasia, for over twenty-five years. Designing and delivering experiences for audiences of all ages, Jess transforms concepts and promotes content into visual, digital, and physical form.
Lynda Lucas
Lynda is currently overseas exploring interpretation around the world. When she is at home she uses her parks experience to interpret and enhance Symonds Street Cemetary.
